Whether you know him as a popular chiropractor in town, or a loyal Rotarian heavily involved with Santa Land, chances are you’re familiar with Dr. Andy. Let’s get to know him a bit better.
Broadway is such a great central location for your office. How did you land on Denville?
I practiced in Denville for many years in various locations with other doctors. In 2019, I decided it was time to work as a sole practitioner. After looking for the right spot for both my patients and myself, serendipity happened! Dr. Marfuggii, the plastic surgeon, had just announced he was retiring from active practice, making his space now available. The unique facade, beautiful interior and central location make the office easy to find, comfortable to be in, and 10 Broadway has become our home.

Did you always want to be a chiropractor? If you weren’t a chiropractor, what would you be instead?
I started as a “miracle patient” actually. While getting my BS in Accounting from Montclair State, I was involved in a severe three-car, head-on collision with my head going through the driver’s side window. For a year and a half I lived in terrible pain and worsening health. After “trying everything,” I tried Chiropractic and it restored my health and changed my life. I decided to return to school, got a science BA from Bloomfield College and my Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College. As for what I would be if not a Chiropractor? I’m positive that this is exactly what I am meant to be. Chiropractic is my profession, lifestyle, calling, and hobby all rolled into one.
You do a lot with the Denville Rotary. How did you get involved with Santa Land?
The Rotary does amazing volunteer work in Denville, nationally and even worldwide and I am honored to be a part of it in our community. In 2010, the Rotary President Joe Paci, came to me and suggested it was time to take on more responsibility in our club. I began assisting and learning from the previous Chairperson, Karl Timmerman, and took over the next year. That said, the magic of Santa Land is generated by over 150 volunteers each year, including the Rotarians, Rotarian families, Morris Knolls Interact Club, Girl Scouts, and Santa that come together each year to make Denville Rotary Santa Land so special. It truly is a labor of love.

What is your favorite bite to eat in town?
Wow, so many to choose from! I think the diverse selection in such a small walk around the block is amazing and delicious but there’s no way I can pick just one favorite. I love them all!! A highlight of my day is walking across the street into the Denville Diner where the waitresses are already making my coffee to go just the way I like it – extra light with a dash of honey!
What advice would you give a new entrepreneur?
I am lucky enough to have over 20 former patients who are now Chiropractors across the country. I’ve been honored by other patients starting new businesses and wanting advice. My advice is always the same – Take care of your people the way you want to be taken care of, love what you do, and keep your initial overhead as low as possible.
